Thought everyone could use a laugh. Read this earlier and thought I would share.


His contract was bought out in 2015 after he was charged with drug possession.

The kings terminated his contract due to a "material breach of terms".

The NHLPA grieved the dismissal on his behalf and now he will be paid six figures until 2032.


The best part of all of this is the drug charges were stayed a year later.

I agree.

There should have been significant cap consequences for initiating the termination. They got away easy, sans paying a player for decades after he played for them lol.

His contract was terrible, in terms of duration, cap hit, and dollar value.

They saw the incident as a way to rid themselves of a terrible contract and never paid the price in terms of getting hit with a significant cap hit.

The contract was significantly front-loaded as well.

its crazy how fast his career derailed it musta been the drugs cause he was a good player in philly but what LAK got was not the player in philly
also looking at the contract he was traded in the last year before the NMC kicked in lol that saved flyers big time
