Another option can be an actual "season"
Everyone plays each other once, followed by playoffs (if 6-7 people, 4 make it, stuff like that)
Lets see if there's enough interest, would be nice if it was cross-platform.
I could probably get some irl friends to help fill PS4 if need be also.
