Would be cool if they actually felt similar to actual skates. Anyone ever try them or any similar ?

I have them,

It does make them feel more similar to ice, but there definitely still a noticeable difference. That being said, i do recommend them. The rocker plate really makes you take a more ice-like stance rather than regular blades.

I will add though that if order just the holders to put on skates you already have you gotta take them to a shop to be riveted on and im not sure theyd be open cuz of the quarantine, so you might need to order the entire skates

I have a pretty nice pair. Was more just wondering if its a gimmick or not

Definitely, id say they arent really a gimmick if used properly but at the same time they arent really necessary either.
Like if you only play roller, i probably wouldnt bother.
But if you are looking to practice on-ice skills when no ice is available, i'd say the holders are certainly worth the money (i found my set on ebay brand new for $125, compared to $200 directly from them) especially if you already have a nice boot to put them on.

The one thing im interested in is their newer ice holder, it seems a little unnecessary to me lol, the whole point of the rocker for the roller ones is to feel like ice, so i wonder what the upside is for a rockered ice holder.

fyi you can buy a rivet tool also, they arnt that pricey

I wasnt able to find one by me that would work on skates without buying a whole press for a couple hundred, so i just took mine to the rink and they did it in like 15-20 mins.

But yeah, definitely could buy your own, especially if you want to swap between these and ice holders without taking them in and paying for the service youd just have to buy bulk rivets but thats like a couple bucks lol
