I buy it every year and noticed it gets worse year by year

NHL 19 basically removed poke checking


How are the glitch goals so far? Stupid or goalies actually adjust to shit shots from a distance?

I believe in the past few years, the game has been made/setup to help the weaker players win, or at least almost win.

Stop poke checking from behind and weird angles. The poke checking is fine.

You cant spam poke check anymore like in nhl 18. They fixed that last year.

this, its much more difficult now, however once you get the hang of it you wont have much of a problem. But yeah you cant just spam it anymore

Thinking of picking up 2020. Will look at some trailers before I decide.

Skipped 2019 because I did not want to pay $80 for a game with not much changes.

Buying every other year seems logical. At least then you will notice more changes.



For the poke check (in years past anyways) you have to learn how to use it with proper angles, as others have said.

Anytime you get near the body it is almost a guarantee to get called on it. Good players try to manipulate this by predicting when you will poke check and will turn into the direction you are throwing your stick out.

You need to time/angle it so you are barely making contact with the blade of the oppositions stick. It almost looks like you are missing entirely when this is done correctly.

If your angles/timing is good you reduce the chance of calls happening and the puck will knock lose at the most opportune time.
