Oh good question.
Based on who has the best record no matter the games played.
Example: Penguins 7-1-0 and the Blues 4-0-0 (With Penguins behind 7-0-0 previously), the Blues would be considered the last undefeated team, even if they lost one of their next three games.

If that doesn't make sense lmk I can try to reword it.
