did u even read that tweet? "It is on-ice officials' call to decide if that qualifies as an Abuse of Officials violation. The answer was no...so no further action"
so, everything went correct here.
when i look how refs are working, i understand that they have got some "info" from higher dimension to slighly help oilers/leafs just to get atleast one of those two into finals and finally get ring to mcdavid or matthews. Thats why they are trying everything to get stars out because jets would be lot lot easier for oilers. NHL should use (in playoffs) IIHF lincensed refs, not just random people who can skate.
As a Stars fan I couldn't agree more. That being said the Stars are about to prove Bettman's dumbass wrong. They can give all the powerplays they want to these teams but anyone whose played hockey knows, "When the refs try and hand you the game you end up losing". Of course Bettman's wet dream would be Oilers vs Leafs but I don't see it happening even with "slight rigging". Most the times I see questionable calls is when a team is down 2-0 3-0 in a series and naturally the league wants it to go 7 games for max $$$ but in hockey it doesn't work as easily.
I admit that the NBA's officiating is the worst and it's why I hardly watch basketball anymore. I'm from Chicago and watched Jordan through the 90's and became a Lakers fan when Kobe & Shaq took over the league. They used to let these guys "play" and not blow the whistle...now it's like "let's just blow the whistle and go to the booth and see if anything happened that we missed". That's dumb imo. I hope the NHL officiating stays solid and they don't cave to new rules and crap.
With the players association did they fight for this to reduce injuries? I can understand giving out stiff penalties to snuff bullshit out of the game but if it's costing you fan engagement I don't think its worth it. I see more NBA players getting injured then ever and I don't remember nearly as many injuries in the past?
