can't do it that way.

think about it

player gets suspended/injured and misses 2 games. so end of season plays less games than another. if they have same points, you can't assume the player who missed would have scored had he played.

unlike teams (all play same # of games), that isn't necessarily true of players

no but he has a higher point per game whats it matter what he woulda got in those 2 games he missed?
imo a player that played 75 games n got 80p is should be above a player that got 80p in 82 games or 80 games ect ect

that's why there is the ppg stat.

goals are > assists. so of course they matter more.

are they? they both count as 1 point and add up the same and with out assists there would hardly be any goals
no you dont reward them for being suspended you reward them for having a good season with better production then other players in less games

if every other stat was identical between two players then you wouldn't rather have someone who had the potential to score 50 goals over someone who and the potential to score 10 goals, but same potential for total points

thats like asking if id take joe thornton over ovechkin and yes i would
a good goal scorer is hard to find but usually are found with a good playmaker
now if it was somebody like stamkos who can put up 50 and earns his goals doesnt just float around and crank pp one timers alll game from a playmaker sure id take stamkos

i agree laughton looked really good tonight i dont think hes going to get sent back down
they dont have super high chemistry on lines because people keep getting hurt and switched up and i think b schenn is back on the 1st line... its hard to say anymore
i thought the vinny line looked pretty good tonight though and generally think the team played good one of the better games they have played lately and kinda deserved to win playing like that

our d looked much better macd with 2 turnovers 1 resulting in a goal but its his 1st game back in awhile i thought he looked good considering


so happy our d is getting healthy though we lost delz but id take that to get macd+schenn back lol

guys been on ltir since before the season i dont think he ever got to play idk wtf happened lol
did he get hurt with the habs? last i see he played 54 games ... and nothing with philly i dont even remember seeing him in training camp n shit
