Colorado managed to scoop up quite a bit of prospects/draft picks.

Honestly I think Nashville is the winner of this trade. They got Turris locked up and it won't impact their roster.

I think Ottawa gave up a lot for a guy who could end up walking after his contract is up. Maybe they traded Turris because they felt they would be unable to sign him?

I guess Ottawa did ok because they did not give up Chabot.

Overall though, I think Nashville is the winner.

It's been reported that Melnyk did not want to sign Turris long term.

Makes quite a bit more sense in that case.

Who knows what goes on behind closed doors though.

We have Colin White and Logan Brown both pushing for roster spots maybe even as soon as this season, signing Turris long term would have taken a spot from them as they're both centres

Exactly, and Turris is strictly a C. This gives us some options. Colin White has recently returned from his injury and is in the AHL for conditioning. Around Christmas time once he's had a month or two to get into game shape I think he's going to get a long look with the Sens and we would be able to move Duchene over

Leafs need to make a transaction by November 15, to get Nikita Soshnikov back on leafs roster or he'll bolt to KHL

there's a possibility that Komarov or one of the upcoming UFAs will be traded

You must mean, Calgary’s viability in Houston.
