Steen (lower-body) is not expected to play on Monday.
Steen, who missed Saturday’s game on Long Island, did not take part in the Blues morning skate, which suggests that he will miss a second straight game. Steen’s injury is not believed to be serious, so consider him day-to-day.

Letang (groin) is unlikely to play on Monday.
Letang was on the ice for the Penguins’ morning skate on Monday, but did not take part in line rushes and was not very involved in drills. It looks like Letang will miss a fifth straight game, but being on the ice for the morning skate, is a good sign that he should be back this week.

The Panthers have placed Aleksander Barkov (hand) on IR.
Barkov’s movement to IR is retroactive to last Monday, which means he can return to the lineup whenever he is 100 percent. He will miss his fourth straight game tonight.

Maatta (undisclosed) will not play on Monday.
Maatta suffered an undisclosed injured in the Penguins win over the Senators on Saturday. With Maatta out, Robert Bortuzzo will draw back into the lineup after a two-game suspension. Maatta is day-to-day.

Staal (foot) will be a game-time decision.
Staal was injured after he was hit by a teammates shot late in the Canes' loss to the Red Wings on Sunday. Staal will take part in pre-game warmups and then decide whether he can go or not.

Would like to announce a three game suspension to some douche in my beer league. The guy is like 60 years old and cut the cage out of his helmet at eye level...
He took the butt end hit stick and thrusted it forward in to the mouth of one of my teammates who does not wear a cage. Was like he's some kind of 300 phalanx soldier.

Three games..
And I just got an email asking if I'm "OK with two games because he feels sorry for what he did"

Guess spearing to the face on a cage less player is only a two game suspension

Anyways- feels good to not have seen a red wing in this thread for a change. Its a rarity (and perhaps a weakness) that they get to perform at full strength
