Seems like some people are convinced we'll be seeing more compliance buyouts in the next CBA, and some teams might be operating with that in mind (Marleau?).
For those that don't remember, every team was given two compliance buyouts to use after the last half-lockout. This allowed teams to buyout players with no cap penalties, unlike regular buyouts.
those buyouts made FA interesting
but at the same time if we were to have even more so soon i feel like teams are able to get away with shit contracts far easier then they should
teams need to be handccuffed by bad contracts so they learn not sign guy 8 years when they are 30 and just buy them out next CBA when more compliance buyouts come out
and iirc the only reason the compliance buyouts came is because the cap went down and it allowed teams to get under the cap..is it going back down in 2 years?
