Asking for a trade to montreal

Be an ok deal for Katz, he'd own 2 NHL franchises.

Connor mcdavid contract press conference to be held tomorrow (Wednesday)
Bout damn time.

Less than 1 hour. 1pm local time is the presser.

I bet they announce draisaitl and mcdavids contracts.
And il go out on a limb and say mcdavid is signing for less than the rumoured 13.25 aav.

A press conference for the largest contract ever signed by an NHL player? Makes sense. The sad franchise is the one 3.5hours south of oilers.
You're about to lose your team. I'd be concerned over what nenshi is doing if I was yous

The NHL can opt-out of the current CBA after two more seasons.

Seems like some people are convinced we'll be seeing more compliance buyouts in the next CBA, and some teams might be operating with that in mind (Marleau?).

For those that don't remember, every team was given two compliance buyouts to use after the last half-lockout. This allowed teams to buyout players with no cap penalties, unlike regular buyouts.

those buyouts made FA interesting
but at the same time if we were to have even more so soon i feel like teams are able to get away with shit contracts far easier then they should
teams need to be handccuffed by bad contracts so they learn not sign guy 8 years when they are 30 and just buy them out next CBA when more compliance buyouts come out

and iirc the only reason the compliance buyouts came is because the cap went down and it allowed teams to get under the cap..is it going back down in 2 years?

It sounds like all signs point to lock out as usual.

If they freaking lock out again.... It's so bad for the product.
If we know that every fifth season or whatever is going to be 48 games I will rage.

What a boring draft, free agency and summer trade season.

Need subban Weber stamkos hall every year

Guess I'll have to wait for doughty to sign in Toronto and Detroit to win the draft lottery
