wherever sens players get their spouses from, I want to avoid it

Summer has been pretty great weather-wise, enjoying it. Except the whole time I'm also waiting for this stupid trade to happen

I guess the players would still like Karlsson, so it wouldn't ruin the room to start the season with him. figure Dorion would be willing to wait until he gets a good offer and he's probably crazy enough to have Karlsson start the season with us.

He's going to try to pull a Sakic and he will probably fuck it up

I'd rather hold onto Ek than trade him for the rumoured packages of the likes of Honka+. If we trade EK we need a top prospect back, like Heiskanen, Glass or Sergachev. The fact that GMs don't want to include them in a package to get Erik Karlsson is beyond me.

cuz that would be one hell of an expensive rental for a season if EK won't sign an extension with his new team, unless he guarantees that he will sign a new 7yr contract after next season, then they may do the trade. Or they can just be smart and keep their top prospects etc and get him free next season. Other GM's knows that EK has 0% chance of staying in ottawa, and there is no way in hell they think ottawa would just let him walk for nothing lol, so they're trying to hard ball and offer decent but not best assets.

I get that, but say Tampa gets him for a package like Gourde, Raddysh & 1st round pick, as a GM of another team wouldn't it make sense to offer more than that to land Karlsson ? I get that Ottawa are in a though spot, but I don't understand how there's not a bidding war between teams for a player of this caliber.

i think the rumor was that tampa and ottawa had a deal but they needed a 3rd team to take a cap dump off tampa, but maybe the 3rd team didn't feel their return was good enough for receiving a cap dumping contract.

Yeah I have read that as well. But there have been a bunch of rumour but nothing confirmed by the likes of McKenzie or Dreger so I'm not sure how true it is.
