I see where you are coming from but i dont think the solution is removing the rule
instead the solution is promoting more people to trusted. if you have that level of trust you should get the appropriate tag.
for example i have a active Nba/nfl/mlb tag, but i think some bball users would likely feel uncomfortable sending to me if i walked in and wanted to hold a Bilnd odds.
even though i am trust worthy enough to not complain it creates unnecessary risk (be it perceived or real)
and could discourage participation.
Thank you. This is my point.
The community should dictate who can hold the fg, and if any one person feels uncomfortable with another user involved, then the mediators are there for that reason.
Everyone here (mostly) is smart enough to know who to trust. I just think an active should be given that opportunity to prove himself, when given the chance.
If there is any shred of doubt toward a person who wants to hold fg, use a mediator. Other than that, it is up to you to decide if that person is worthy of holding the forum gold for a particular event.
I do see why only mediators would be allowed to hold fg, in order to minimize welching.
But if Nearin were to host an event, who really would complain about him holding the fg? If anything, it would allow him the opportunity to prove that he is a strong candidate for trusted as everything goes well.
And if someone doesnt trust him to med the pot, then, simply use a mediator. Not that hard.
