if flyers do trade for a d man there prob going to trade read or sumthin
we dont really need forwards and i dont see anybody else really moving and flyers dont have many prospects that seem that good other then maybe gostibere

richards is lindros 4.0 drury 3.0 or gomez 2.0. expecting him to rebound is silly. NYR is the overpaid center graveyard. Richards will eat a compliance buyout next summer, this summer if Sather sees a replacement in free agency. It'll be a couple years of decent hockey from Richards then he'll fall off a cliff.

Trade looks even worse. Doug Wilson tells me 2nd rounder in 2013 & a 2nd rounder in 2014 which becomes a 3rd rounder in 2014 if PIT doesn't win 2 playoff rounds

They don't even need to re-sign Murray and San Jose are guaranteed at least a 3rd.

With players like Boyle, Powe, and Asham they got the grit needed in the playoffs. If they can keep their defense healthy they will be contenders easily. I like their chances a lot more than Montreals.

asham and powe are done. They have no Prust or Moen there. You're remembering players who were good five years ago, not players who are good now. The only teams in the east that can match the Habs are Boston and Pittsburgh. Maybe the Devils could upset too cause Brodeur. Lundqvist has like a .700 SV% history at the Bell Centre. If Boston and Pittsburgh can get knocked out first or second round somehow Habs are the clear favourites to go to the finals out of the east.

Rangers have players who have a lot to prove and can easily take things to a whole new level in the playoffs. They have elite goal scorers, a top tier defense, arguably the best goalie in the league, and the depth needed for the east. If they stay healthy, and play like they can, they are in the finals.

They were taken out of the league and replaced with the Rangers.
