Yup. Fb video calls with family every Sunday/ Wednesday
Typical gaming every night with co workers/ family/ friends makes the social part of this pandemic not so hard hitting for me.
Biggest impact, much like everyone that lives in a big city, the lines to get into Costco/ grocery store.
Waited 1hr 15mins to get into Costco on saturday. Then another hour at least for grocery store.
Imho only essential workers should be allowed to shop on weekends.
The elderly/ teens and ppl laid off/ on 14 day iso should fuck off on the weekends. I dont have anyother choice to shop on sat or sunday
It really has helped a lot. I feel sorry for my 85 year old Grandma being shut in the most. I call her every other day but she is crushed she can not see anyone.
It is a real shame so many are being robbed of time together, especially those who are older and will not be around for much longer.
In positive news my commute is now 25 minutes.... It was close to an hour before with traffic. When things go back to normal I am going to be frustrated to say the least. Really noticing savings with gas prices combined with less idling. It has made a bigger difference than I would have thought.
I had hours reduced last week, so there is only a half day on Fridays now. I am doing my shopping at that time. A little less money is annoying but it forces me to budget better.
The money saved due to lack of socializing is actually leaving me with more money then I had before despite being down 8 hours a paycheque.
I agree that it is selfish to shop on weekends if your are laid off/retired and so forth. I am going to be going Friday afternoon from now on.
