I know -SO- many people IRL that are just so against Pietrangelo and I don't understand it.

Yeah he's like a Jackman most times in the offensive zone, but he will NEVER get danced around or get the puck stolen from him in the d-zone, no matter how many people are all over him.

yea, as much as id love to resign shattenkirk, pietrangelo is more important to our team. he can do everything shatty does better than shatty can do everything pietrangelo does.

hes lights out defensively and might be the most composed player on our team. as you have mentioned, he just doesnt get beat.

the people that are against him only care about scoring goals, and if he wasnt asked to be our top defensive defenseman, he would provide plenty of offense.



i like bouwmeester, but his contract isnt ideal. if we could somehow find a way to move him, we could resign shattenkirk and maybe even backes if hes willing to take a paycut.

See the thing with Bouw is that he's a lefty. We needed a top d-man that can be mobile and not make mistakes while giving Petro the space he needs to make the plays he does.

If we could find another available top d-man that plays mainly lefty, I think we'd go for it, but until then, Bouw is that guy.
