official confirmation i havent seen, but that was 100% clean, no head hit, all contact through the side/shoulder. didnt get boarded, just crushed.
I wouldnt be surprised if the NHL is trying to FIND a way to call it not clean, but it was clean.

Torres got suspended for a similar clean hit

While tkachuk often walks the line, he's no torres.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I highly doubt he will be suspended.

Then again with the NHL wheel of justice I should never expect anything because nobody seems to know (including the players) what will happen.

Torres had some legit cheapshots that had devastating consequences.

His leash was cut very short after that to the point he could not play an effective role anymore. It was a shame to see him forced out but that is what the majority wanted.

He was always on the edge. Sometimes he crossed, other times I thought his hits were clean. He got penalized for clean and borderline hits.

Overall I really liked his game because the effort level was 10/10 everytime and he gave the fans something to cheer for.


Funny thing is Scott Stevens is revered for those same type of hits. The game has changed.

I don't think Stevens ever got suspensed for one of his bone crunching hits. It was all within the rules at the time. Now you can't play that way.
