I'm bad at Gwent. I've only played two games. Starting to think the best way to do it is to throw the first round.

Depends on the hand ya get. If you can get spy cards, load up on extra cards and throw the first round. My "special" card of whatever doubles my bottom row (ballistas and shit). So I stack those if I can and thump him.
I've got a bit of a system I stick to.

Beat Stepjan now. Gave me the Yennefer of Venerberg card. 7 mid range attack. Can't be lowered from fog and brings back and used card upon use. Fucking sweet.

Yeah I haven't put much into collecting them. I know they're sold in shops but haven't bothered yet. Still playing with the basic deck. I'll learn the rules and strategy better and play more, it seems like it could be fun if you take time to learn, I think I kinda went through the motions on the first game.
FF8 and FF9 were SO much better though. Fuck, I must have spent 20+ hours trying to get certain cards, then losing my unique cards, then another 10+ hours trying to get them back

Doing all the "unique card" quests right now. Basically boss fights for gwent. Just had probably the closest match ever. Was down by a few, last round. He was outta cards. My last card was a spy card. Have him four more points but added a +7 catapult with my commanders horn to double. Won by a few. So fucking close.

Just hit level 7. Didn't fucking realize til now that the character upgrades had multiple tabs.

I'm mastering the art of finding guarded treasures, sneaking up on the high level bastard, grabbing the loot, and running like a bitch.

I haven't tried any guarded treasures. Knowing me I'd charge in on my horse, jump off and start swinging away.

Anyone else got a sex scene yet? I've gotten two, hah! Noticing I'm not getting a lot of achievements either. Tough ones.

its like i wanna not win the 1st round n let him waste his cards but i cant because i need to keep putting cards or else i pass he goes higher 1 card then passes n wins
i got the 2 free cards from the quest so far and they practicly give you them but beyond that im horrible cuz my cards are shit i hate seeing guys pull out 10 str cards n revive them n buff them its like wtf i dont have that
ive bought cards pretty much everytime ive seen a vendor had any half decent too so idk wtf
