Kippers just day-to-day thank god! I still hope Irving gets the start tomorrow @ Columbus. Will be interesting to see how he and the team performs. They need to get back to .500 so they don't put themselves too far out of the picture ^_^

Flames win lastnight and that brings them back to .500 at 3-3-2

Only 2 points back of the cOilers in 8th, with 2 games in hand...

Unfortunately Backlund is gone for 4-6 weeks with a Grade 2 MCL Sprain and Kippers gone for a week with a Grade 1 MCL Sprain

Backlund just can't catch a break :( Love that guy.

We are so boned tomorrow. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually beginning to think that the playoffs are in sight this year with their new improved play, but we are going to get raped by those damn nucks. Maybe if Kipper was around it'd be better. I'll be happy if we get a point.

Ben Street should be interesting. First Danny Taylor's first game yesterday, then Ben Street's tomorrow. Cervenka's first goal yesterday. Sven's first year with the club. Brodie graduated to now be a full NHLer. Anyone who says we're not making progress in improving the team, or we haven't started "rebuilding," isn't paying attention.

Bump B)

Two consecutive wins, 2 points out of a play off spot. Starting to get healthy again and playing strong like they did before all the injuries B)

news on kipper?

Likely still a week or so away, but he skated today.

Quote
CALGARY, AB -- On Sunday morning, Calgary Flames netminder Miikka Kiprusoff hit the ice at the Scotiabank Saddledome for his first full solo skate since suffering a lower body injury on Feb. 5 in Detroit.

"The medical staff ... were pretty pleased with what they saw from Miikka's condition," head coach Bob Hartley said. "He will not be skating with the team though."

Kiprusoff will be reevaluated by the organization's medical staff on Monday to see how he has progressed before the team makes any further decisions on his practice regimen.

"Is there pain? Is he good? If he's still good, we're going to keep getting him on the ice and eventually you'll see him with the team.

"We're very happy with Miikka's progress."

Earlier this month, the goaltender went for a short skate to test out how the injury was fairing but experienced pain.

"We pulled him out right away. After this, they had the MRI and they said that it was a little worse than what we first thought."

It is unlikely that the netminder will accompany the team on their two-game road trip this week.

Big win vs Nucks, Kipper looks like he'll be back tomorrow vs the Sharks.

3-1-1 in last 5, gotta keep winning if they want to have a sniff at the post-season.
