two most important games in season, last 2 game. over 40 minute TOI, 0+0 and 2 shots on goal. including over 5 minute powerplay time
gz. Can we now all agree that barkov did shut down this kid?

Lets be honest. Forsling did help a lot shutting down McDavid
I mean.. Barkov has a way better team around him.

10/10 in all honesty.

Two way play at S tier level when the chips are down. The way to win.

Mcdavids was playing with an abdominal injury which requires surgery. Draisaitl was playing with broken rib and a broken finger.

Makes sense how they were no shows. Dang man

Draisaitl gets hurt every playoffs.

Terrible luck. Maybe his playstyle is part of it, I am not sure.

Rib injury you can play through the pain but it's awful. I have had cracked ribs and every breath is painful. Draisaitl has played hurt before. His toughness has never been in question, but a broken finger would hamper arguably his best asset, and harm his ability to take faceoffs as well.

Maybe I am looking into it to much, but watching game 7 he lost a lot of key faceoffs clean..... Which made me think something was off. When did he sustain the injuries?

Wonder when Mcdavid suffered his abdominal injury too.

This is probably just the beginning. We will hear of other injuries soon too. Toughest sport to win without a doubt. Most people would throw in the towel with these kinds of injuries.

Hell if someone has a broken rib they probably won't show up for their desk job. You have to respect all these players. They get no extra money for playoffs.... It's all pride and a strong desire to win.

oof broken rib its a fucking nightmare to play with this, had a cracked rib years ago and i kept going to BJJ classes with that injury
i lasted 2 weeks and then i couldnt tolerate the pain anymore, playing hockey has to be even worse with every stride you feel it and just getting hit in the corner...

toughest sport for sure especially in the playoffs with football coming in 2nd place, only thing saving them in football its just 1 game per round

edit : nah mcdavid was playing pretty well if i remember in game 4-5-6 in the serie i wonder when the injury happened

drai had this finger problem before playoffs iirc. he had two fingers taped together for awhile. the rib thing, makes sense he couldnt get his shot off clean or win a fo. cant get any torque.
mcdavid was injured at heritage classic but played through it at beginning of the year. i wonder if its the same nagging abdominal probelm that got worse. but for drai was absent essentially all finals and mcdavid did not much after the 2x 4pt outbursts.
