That cap space is already spent with the cap going down that much. After we compliance buyout Kaberle we'll have 12 mil cap space to sign a top 9 winger, re-sign Dumont and White and possibly try and sign or trade for a big name guy. Realistically though our lineup has no holes when healthy even with Ryder leaving at the end of the year. We might just use the cap space for nothing then use it on Subban, Eller, Emelin and Diaz next summer. Kristo will steal Gionta's spot by the end of next season most likely. Our cap situation is so good after the Cole trade we could take on Lecavalier's contract and pay him to sit at home. We could even buy low on Ovechkin. Therrien made Bourque try and be a beast when he was looking like waiver buyout material last season. I think Ovechkin would do well here where he wouldn't be captain.
