Once again the Canucks figure out how to play hockey when it's way too late.

At the rate things are going we won't even get a top 10.

It's nice to see a lot of players up their game, but as we have seen before it may not translate into next season.

If that is the case this run is a total waste and will be damaging.

Aiden mcdonaugh signs 2 yr elc with Lolnucks.

Dunno how they're gonna find a spot for him to play with so many forwards the Canucks have, even with Pearson being out all of next season.

I doubt he's on the Canucks next season.

There's a good chance he never makes the team at all, he's like a C prospect.

that's what i think too, but Alvin spoke to him and his family. Laid out a plan for him, and after that they were full on board to join the Canucks rather than going to FA and sign with another team.

At the very best, i think he would fit well with Aman and DJ.

The plan is likely to burn a year of his ELC. He has a faster route to free agency through us than any other team.

Doubt he was guaranteed anything more than that.

He would've been a FA on Aug 15, and would've been free to sign with any other team. However, he chose to sign with the Canucks, so he's now lolnux property for another 2 years. I don't think burning a year of ELC is a plan you explain to the family, it's literally what most college guys have as a leverage if they're pending FA within the months lol. Basically an incentive, don't go to FA and have your choice with other NHL teams, we will give you NHL salary for the remaining months, so it burns a year of your ELC without having to spend the full year. Drance/Dahli reported that Alvin laid out the plan about his development and they were impressed. Rathbone also spoke highly of the org and development, despite lookin like he won't get a chance in the NHL due to OEL and some others taking a spot over him lol

If tochett isn't full of shit, he should be playing on the team to "evaluate" him, like an extended training camp. However, we all know that's all BS cuz Tochett is trying to win the cup here, playing hughes 30min and petey 24min, especially with a 4 game winning streak lmao. I hope McDonaugh sticks around and becomes to first prospect that spends quite some time in the AHL and develop into a NHLer under this new regime, instead of bolting to a different team after his 2yrs is up.

Sorry I mispoke. I meant the fastest route to getting out of his ELC is through us.

Hronek debuts tonight, apparently they'll try playing him with Hughes.

Christian Wolanin signed on a two-year, two-way contract extension.
Well deserved.
