Was going to post that Parise is going to be out 2-3 weeks with a bruised foot after blocking a Steen slap shot from point blank range
And then I read this:
Quote (Russo)
Parise arrived at Xcel Energy Center this morning in a walking boot and was expected to miss two to three weeks with a bruised foot. But around 10 a.m., Parise went on the ice in a track suit and tested the foot. He looked tentative as he pushed off. He left the ice after five minutes.
Twenty minutes later, he emerged for the morning skate much to the delight of his teammates. During line rushes, he took his spot on the Parise-Mikko Koivu-Charlie Coyle line. That is an indication he will play tonight. The second line is the reunited Nino Niederreiter-Mikael Granlund-Jason Pominville line. The third line is Matt Cooke-Kyle Brodziak-Dany Heatley, while the fourth line is Justin Fontaine-Zenon Konopka-Torrey Mitchell.
So, it looks like Parise, Granlund and Mitchell will all play tonight vs. Phoenix, meaning Jason Zucker will likely be reassigned because there's no longer a roster spot free and Mike Rupp will be scratched.
On the blue line, Keith Ballard is paired on the right side of Clayton Stoner, so it looks like Ballard will be activated and Nate Prosser and Matt Dumba will be scratched.
Josh Harding is expected to be in uniform, which means Darcy Kuemper will be reassigned. Niklas Backstrom will start.
Holy moly
And of course, just as I post this Russo tweets that he won't play tonight.
