I dont know if thats accurate.... I didnt have vehicle insurance for 5 years basically (was on a company plan and drove a company vehicle). Didnt have any effect on my insurance.

Yeah that`s what I thought aswell, they basically pull your drivers abstract which will show any vehicle accidents, tickets, etc.
