Calle Jarnkrok
36 points in 57 games this year- gonna be 23 this year. List 165 pounds.

I'm not missin' him :)

If you are of the absolutely no rental players mindset then thats another thing though.
I'd like to see them make a push just to get in. I think this certainly helps.

If they re-sign him at a fair price Im ok with that too.

Lets not forget though- wings went from 1.something Mil to 3.9Mil in open cap space after the move and will be even more open to cap space if Legwand goes elsewhere.

e) with our center depth currently, he would have never seen the ice in the NHL had he even produced enough to make it by 25. And if youre fighting for ice time by 25, chances are you're not expected to produce a whole lot other than role filler (hold a limited number of players)

We aren't deep at center. We're deep at 3C and 4C but have no prospects who could legitimately be 1C or 2C. Glendening and Sheahan are shut down guys with some secondary scoring potential, not primary scorers. Jarnkrok was our future top line center after datsyuk and zetterberg.
Skates great, make good decisions, and has a hell of a saucer pass.

And there's the side that says our wingers sorely need a pivot of any kind that can hang at the NHL level right now.
And Holland had the news that Pavel is out 3 weeks at least.

I dont think we had a choice to be honest. Who was gonna be 1, 2, 3, 4 between now and whenever? Tatar/Nyquist/Helm/Anderson? I mean I just think it had to be done.

We will see though! Thats the beauty.

I dont think Jarnkrok will be a #1 or #2 on a playoff NHL team for a long time if at all. Thats me though. Everyone is entitled.

He has skill but not size. Size is easy.
Just feels like Legwand is a bandaid to try and keep the playoff streak alive. And we're sacrificing future for some stupid ego trip of having a long playoff streak. With detroit 100% healthy at camp next year, do you really see a fit for him?

Legwand on the ice this morning for the Red Wings :)

Eaves hasn't been the same since he got injured last year, and I've heard that same thing about Jarnkrok that he wants to go back to Sweden.

Jarnkrok wants to go back only if he doesn't get an NHL spot next year.
That simply would not happen on the wings.
Holland got a win win here I think. Put jarnkrok in a place where he can make a team and got a filler center.

Furthermore- helm ks out with concussion like symptoms.
I did not know this but the wings brass did. Our four best possible centers are all out with injury.

With jarnkrok wanting a spot next year or not at all and the wings not having any real NHL centers, this deal had to be done. Its a good thing for everyone.

Feeling better yet again....yet again about the legwand acquisition lol

Jokim andersson out 2-3 weeks fractured foot.

Amazing.

Red wings centers out with injury:
Datsyuk
Zetterberg
Helm
Weiss
Andersson

We literally do not have an NHL center hold legwand
