I agree with SP on this one... if you think beyond the "Potential terrorist gets 10.5M headline" it's a lot more complex.

He was a kid, who was tortured and under torture admitted to throwing the grenade. Whether or not that is true, you cant take KIDS and TORTURE them. Period. Pair that with the lots of the people in Guantanamo being innocent, sometimes they just had a watch on that was similar to what the terrorists use and I can understand why Canada paid him what they did. The US was reckless with how they detained and what they did at Guantanamo Bay, frankly it's one of the biggest human rights violations that is completely out in the public

The "reasons" are that he comes from a known terrorist family. Was groomed for terrorism. Made many ieds. And gets caught up in a fight with American soldiers and allegedly killed a medic. Then years later gets a massive payday? Nothing wrong with that?

If for instance. He wasn't a Canadian citizen, and just a regular old terrorist of 15years old and different nationality. Would your bleeding heart still bleed for him? And want to award him for moneys he somehow is owed?

For starters. Obviously I think torturing innocent children is wrong.
But for kids like this? At 15 years old I knew right from wrong. And he sure as hell did aswell. But we are sitting here saying he isn't responsible for his actions??

The judicial system in Canada is a Complete joke - fact.

People are not inherently bad. The way he was brought up implies everything he did was good. 15 years old is way to young as his major influence will be his parents and his peers. If he was brought up around a family with jihad beliefs then there is no hope, especially if his parents or some authority figure told him what to do. It's fucked, but at that age he really had no way out.
