You can glitch your merc so that most monsters don't target it, that way it doesn't die.

You do have to do it every game though so it's only worthwhile if you're doing something where you're not leaving the game very often. Obviously if you're doing Pindle runs or something it's not worth it, because it'll take longer to glitch the merc than do the run lol.

Easiest way is using the doors to trap it in the Inner Cloister. Can probably find a YT video that shows it.
