Blizzard doesn't make money on the auth. The app is free and the 6.50 one has free shipping and that's how much it costs them to make.
But yeah for now it's still a better idea to play priv.

Greetings,
I am Game Master Osissque and I'm here regarding the compromise of your Diablo 3 account. I wanted to provide you with some important information about the restoration process prior to proceeding with this investigation.
With Diablo 3, very specific limitations and requirements are in place when it comes to compromises. We've provided a full breakdown of the details here: <http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/compromised-diablo-iii-account>.
The most important things to take away from this page are as follows:
-The restoration system works off of restore points that are saved on your account regularly. This means that some of your most recent activity may not be restored, as the restoration will simply roll the account back to the most recent restore point. Furthermore, this rollback is final. In the event you are unhappy with the outcome, we will be unable to reverse it.
-After your first compromise restoration, access to the Real Money Transaction Auction house will be restricted unless your account has a Battle.net Authenticator attached. This change is permanent.
-Diablo 3 accounts are limited to two restorations due to compromise. Additional restorations cannot be guaranteed and are likely to be denied.
So long as you understand these stipulations and wish to proceed with your restoration, simply reply back and let us know. We'll be happy to begin performing your restoration right away.
Account security is critically important. To help protect your account, we recommend following our Account Security Checklist: <http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/account-and-computer-security>.
Thank you again for contacting us. If you require any further clarification, please don't hesitate to let us know. I hope you continue to enjoy your experience in Diablo III!
