An option was given to all union employees to have me laid off so they would not lose any hours.

I find it hard to believe you missed reading this twice. Or missed his follow up post.

It's funny how it works,

Ppl that are working prefers to chill at home for couple weeks instead

Ppl that are laid off or not allowed to work cos non essential, prefer to work to get the dough

Yeah I won't lie 3rd week in a row doing nothing isn't what I normally do. It's really hard. Would love just about anything that gets me out the house for a few hours a day.

the word union being used in any sentence means that the union decided it and thats final

More than anything I am just grateful my colleagues were willing to keep me despite it resulting in their hours being cut.

good thing it was up to them and not your union

so by that technicality (according to the union/company) I was on the chopping block to get laid off.

its the employees, do you not see that too lol. our site is unionized, the workers(employees) deciding if somone works which reduces their hours is on the workers, not the union

if the union rep stepped in or if the collective agreement says this has to be done, then its on the union. sounds like the employer gave the workers a vote

our union workers are asked to vote if they want to work in the rain or not, has to be all or no guys. they vote and they dont want to work, thats on the workers not the union lmao

So you’re arguing semantics.

Becuase I do agree with the way you worded this.
