I guess it depends on how much self-awareness Blueberries developed over this season. Does he actually think he had nothing to do with the team's long string of failures? If that's the case then well, the franchise will remain on dire straits for a long time because he'll keep meddling and hiring for massaged feelings instead of competence.

he never learns, for example

[Drance] Canucks being tight lipped pending an announcement, but sounds like Stan Smyl will have an interim GM title in the wake of Jim Benning’s dismissal.

Expecting Ryan Johnson to have an elevated role too, perhaps interim AGM.

Think the Twins will be more involved day-to-day, also.

basically nothing changed, Smyl is interm til they find a new GM.. but over qualified GM's will probably avoid the org unless they have it in writing in their contract that the owner won't meddle and make them look bad and ruin their reputation. So it's most likely gonna be a new GM once again, that is another yes man to aquaman. Benning will probably give him a tip or 2, look, u can just say yes and make $$$$$$$$ but u get fucked regardless in the end, or you can build your reputation up but won't last too long within the org. Let's hope the current scouting team stays strong, losing both Benning/Brackett isn't ideal for the org for drafting, but i guess it can't be worse than Gillis days. Let's hope whoever Aqualini hires to be the GM is the next Gillis, and find ways to improve the team with the strong core he's given cuz at least it worked in the past.

also, Green wasn't even close to being the worst coach in the franchise's history. The AV and Quinn eras were the only ones the Canucks were consistently a good team. this team has had a rough rough go over the years

Players are also equally to blame for not showing up and executing, look at Newell Brown. Ducks were terrible special teams last season and then hires Brown to lead them to the top in short amount of time. While fans wanted Brown gone for terrible special teams, but clearly his coaching wasn't the problem.

I was afraid of this, he can't draft for shit either lol
Gg!

Bunch of rumors so far, Rutherford, bergevin, gonna have a lot of names linked cuz they're gonna take their time to figure out all their options.

If Jimbo hadn't let Toffoli walk the Habs' miracle run doesn't happen. It's not surprising Molson cleaned house so soon after a SCF run, Bergevin hasn't left the franchise in a good position and only through extreme luck he got something out of his roster. It would be a huge mistake to bring him in when the Canucks are in a rough position.

[Dayal] Aquilini strongly refutes the idea the idea that he’s been overly involved: “Owners own, managers manage, coaches coach, players play. The minute you cross those lines… there’s no alignment anymore”

the game so far is night and day difference, creativity & effort is back. Bruce only had this morning to practice with his new team, and it already made so much impact lol. Let's hope the team keeps improving, and isn't just a honeymoon phase.

one of the best offensive coach with one of the best defensive coach, and walker running the PK. Is King still coaching PP?

Podkolzin finally getting his deserved ice time and is looking great, and Shaw going back to do what he does best and running the D, PK is also already much better too.

got some puck luck going our way, but biggest difference - not being a bunch of headless chickens making 101 mistakes left and right that even uninspired teams could feast on. easily best game of the season, says a lot about how the top was crushing the players.

Biggest difference is EVERYONE is constantly moving, with or without the puck. They're creating so much room and space for each other, forcing LA to move around to try defend their man, and causing confusion and space. Canucks had 11 high danger chances on 5v5 as a result. This team has a lot of speed and skill players, but they haven't used that efficiently, like everyone was static, lifeless, effortless, moving only when they're expecting a pass etc. Predictable af.

Definitely a good start to Bruce's debut, hopefully they continue to improve as they get more practice in.
