good to see y'all becoming as cynical as myself. let the hate flow through you

I started off pretty damn positive haha. Figured this was a playoff team with Demko and the overall talent level of the team.

Have certainly become cynical now.

Satiar Shah on Twitter: The Boudreau hire was not management’s decision, so we’ll see what else happens.

As expected, Aqualini doing all the work. Makes sense why Green has to find out he lost his job through social media. I hope he hires McFarland as the GM, although idk if someone qualified like him would even come to Vancouver knowing that he won't be able to do his job without Aqualini getting in the way.

Now even off-ice is dysfunctional as fuck lol. Aqualini hires Bruce, while Benning and co. are like ????? well whatever, we always said yes to him anyway. Awks btwn Green and org.
Are we losing our jobs too for being a good yes man and listening to the owner this whole time???

Why even hire a GM, Aqualini runs everything. No one can even take a shit without his permission

many years late but at least it happened

still, the way it's been unfolding is not reassuring. interviews and hirings happening before current staff is actually fired shows Jimbo hasn't been in control for a while, and Blueberries treated Jimbo/Green as a package deal. feel like one huge kneejerk to the disastrous results, yet no guts to first clean house and then look for replacements. missed out on any chance to get Gorton and professionalize the org again. so unless Blueberries puts in work to hire a POHO we're likely to see another braindead GM whose only concern is being a good boy to his boss.

i don't think it's the lack of guts to clean the house, it's more like Aquaman is in a dilemma.. fire his best yes man GM for who...? any overqualified GM would not want to work for aquaman, and ruin their reputation for him or hire another yes man GM to do what exactly? he's literally paying $$ to hire a GM to be his shield when things go south.

"hey benning, im sorry but i think i gotta let you go... you were the best GM i ever had in my life cuz u would say yes to me no matter what."

[Gaffar] Believe the changes in Vancouver will include Jim Benning and John Weisbrod out as GM and AGM. Chris Gear likely steps into an interim role. Travis Green and Nolan Baumgartner out on the coaching side. Bruce Boudreau and Scott Walker in on coaching staff.

I guess it depends on how much self-awareness Blueberries developed over this season. Does he actually think he had nothing to do with the team's long string of failures? If that's the case then well, the franchise will remain on dire straits for a long time because he'll keep meddling and hiring for massaged feelings instead of competence.

also, Green wasn't even close to being the worst coach in the franchise's history. The AV and Quinn eras were the only ones the Canucks were consistently a good team. this team has had a rough rough go over the years
