I thought he was exempt becasue he has played so few games?

Bah I don't know the rules well enough, but I do know he's in danger of getting picked up if we send him down. Otherwise we could start the year with Hilller / Ramo, trade one in the next few months, then bring up Ortio.

ya i dont follow it either, but if they are reporting he cant be sent down without waivers im sure they have done their homework.

I thought they had like 60 games or until they were 25 that they were waiver ineligible

So scenario time.

Trade deadline rolls around and Calgary is let's say sitting comfortably in a playoff spot, or at least 5+ points in.

And Colorado is not near a spot.

Flames make a trade for Iginla that doesn't include a first or any high potential prospects. :')

Nope, but wouldn't be sad to see Mayray, Engelland or even David Jones go in the deal. Calgary has a better chance at a cup than the avs. I would literally cry if Iginla came back.

Why though? So he can sit in the press box for the playoffs? I dont really see the fit to be honest.

Dont get me wrong, I love the guy and respect the hell out of his time in Calgary, but I think that chapter is closed. The team moved on, just like he did and he doesnt really fit the system that Bob has in place any more.

Don't say that  I don't even care if he plays fourth line minutes. If Calgary made a deal that brought him back without giving up a first, second or any high profile prospects. I'd be happy. Don't even care. Or maybe if he came back the year after for dirt cheap.

This basically.

Don't care what role he has, Iginla belongs here. Would welcome him with open arms.
