I swear to god if we miss playoffs and cleary is still on the roster a year from now it's going to be pushing my limits for staying loyal to holland. I'll still root for the team but I'm starting to have major conflicts with the front office.

I wonder how the Mrasek Gus situation plays out. Im thinking Gus and Howard of course ride out the year/playoffs then Mrasek backs up Howard next year but like you said, Holland has been confusing lately lol

I think we will see the bolds again next year. Its possible that the wings have Cleary too whether we like it or not. He said he wants to retire a wing and it sounded like he really meant it based on the philly situation. Maybe he takes a deal for a mil and 4th line/PK.

I just think the nonbolds will get signed too. Holland is sentimental with his signings which is great for players like Lidstrom who he convinced to stay like 3 years past when he wanted to retire lol.

And I know I give cleary a lot of shit but he is a good role player so I get why it's hard to just let him go. I just worry especially because Mursak straight up walked because of the overdevelopment in the org. If we do that to mantha while he's putting up lemieux/gretzky numbers in the Q this year (albeit a few years older than when they were there) it could be detrimental to his development.

There are great players in the pipeline. I know I'm beating a dead horse saying it again but I think detroit has been toying with the confidence of prospects by bringing them up and sending them down so liberally. Some guys like Sheahan may very well consider themselves grand rapids players instead of concurrently being red wings prospects.

The Red Wings have placed Johan Franzen on IR with concussion-like symptoms.
Franzen played just one game after returning from a concussion. This is terrible news for the Red Wings who will be without Franzen, Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg tonight in Philadelphia. Their top-6 tonight will consist of five players who played with Grand Rapids (AHL) last season.
