It's been crazy. Lucky I am not directly effected.

Have a friend living just above the flood zone. A two minute drive and you are under water.

Will be some time before all major routes are restored.

Man you can already tell the announcers are being careful what they say.

Aquaman threatened them.

Larscheid was the last guy to speak critically. Shortly after he 'retired'.

Lol Canucks can't be a threat til they figure out their special teams. They're great on 5v5, but as soon as go on the PK, it kills any momentum and chances to win games cuz we can expect them to let a goal in like half the time. It's like the complete opposite of the Oilers, they own so much on the powerplay, and expect them to score half the time that it makes up for their struggles on their 5v5.

Having Poolman & Hamonic back, and all of sudden their defense looks a billion times better. Still shit, but nothing like the past few games without them.

How are we great 5 on 5 lol? What team are you watching?

Before tonight's game 5-on-5:

27th in xGF%
22nd in SCF%
25th in HDSCF%

We're average when it comes to shots% stats but a lot is from the outside. A lot of players look up at the scoreboard, seeing we're getting badly outshot, so they just throw everything at the net.

the bubble run was the worst thing to happen to this team.

without COVID they miss the 2020 playoffs and house is cleaned, Benning is out of excuses. Demko's godlike play was the catalyst for Benning and Green to keep stealing paychecks because Fredo is too fucking stupid to see that even with a goalie posting impossibly high numbers the team still was only good for the second round. the last time the team was a playoff contender was with Gillis' team. in all of Benning's years he hasn't gotten a team to actually be competitive over 82 games even though he's mortgaged the future over and over to do it.

yet Fredo manages the team like a child with no object permanence, only thinking about that one time he got excited during COVID lockdowns. as such, Benning GMs with only the next 24 hours in mind and if his seats ever gets hot he can sacrifice Green first. Green only gets fired if Jimbo thinks that's what it takes for him to survive, he will not fire for any other reason.

the worst shit since 2020 has been the loss of most of the good people in the org, because Fredo only cares about getting his dick sucked and Jimbo can't do math.

too bad Seattle is off to a dogshit start, or else fans would've started flocking over to the Kraken.

With the rough start the Canucks had with almost no offense, and the last 3 below outs the team's CF is still 51%. Which means that they still control the game half the time, rather than being caved in 24/7 like previous seasons and allowing 40+ sog on net as the norm.
Their HDC% is 12.5 which is above league average at 10.9. So they're still converting high danger chances into goals at a decent rate, the Oilers with McJesus and Drais are 12.9%. The Avs are 9.1% and they're contenders, but clearly struggling from their expectations.
The team is struggling to score goals, yet on 5v5 they scored only 25 goals and allowed 27 with 3 blow out games in a row, if anything you'd expect like 15 goals and 30 goals against the way they're playing. At the start of season their 5v5 was beyond terrible, but they managed to fix that issue.

It's the special teams that is destroying any momentum and chances to win games, more so than their lack of 5v5 play. I thought that was pretty obvious, like they allowed another 3 ppg tonight, and went 0% on the powerplay. Go check the other games out too, it's special teams diff.
NHL team's PK is 80% on average, and the Canucks are like 60%. Their PP is awful too. Basically, any team that allows ppg more than half the time will never have a good chance of winning games in the NHL.

You'd think when they had a meeting about what's going on with the team, they would talk about special teams, but it's just "let's be patient, everything will be fine" jaja
Aqualini don't wanna spend more $$$, why would he? the stadium still filling up more seats than Edmonton despite their success with 2 players scoring at crazy rate

I'll go to a game... when it's 20 bucks off Craigslist to see them play the Coyotes or some shit. I think making a STH sell for that little sends more of a message than not buying second-hand at all

and of course, no concessions - only Costco hot dogs before the game.

Being average at corsi means nothing if the shot and chance quality is ass.

Yes, it's better than being caved in corsi wise but it's still shit, and doesn't mean we're good 5-on-5 let alone "great".

Not sure what high danger conversion has anything to do with it.

Yes special teams are a huge problem obviously and would make a big difference if we were even average but then we'd be more like a .500 team instead of bottom-feeding and .500 for this team isn't good enough either.
