Eh... his interview was primarily about Subban and Stamkos. I wouldn't split hairs over the quote, it's gonna be about his comments on Stamkos.
Although I can see an argument that if a team openly states they want Subban he might request a trade. That's nowhere near as bad as telling a pending UFA that you'll sign him though.

True, I still don't like it. Dougie's a stud, and he just had a career year in points with a coach who didn't trust him. Gotta hang on to him.

Yakupov isn't worth much anymore, would make more sense to have nurse/klef to replace Subban, but that's probably the hold up.

I think replace draisaitl for eberle.

And with yak. It's the appeal of reuniting galchenyuk and yakupov. They would be same line I'm sure.
