You're right. Not everyone is so immature at that age though (late teens to mid 20s), so nothing wrong with giving the straight dope. Maybe living in California, I just see the worst of everything when it comes to people and relationships and what they look for versus what they need and what will actually make them happy. I don't believe you have to have a bunch of bad girlfriends/boyfriends before you find a good one. There's nothing wrong with being discerning from a young age.
