Gotta give credit to Benning, without OEL or garland, this team would've literally repeated last season. Only Hughes and hogs showing up, Miller putting up invisible points despite being terrible, Petey had his worst game in his NHL career, I love how green benched his ass. Let's see if he even responds next game. Poolman for 2.5m seems like a steal so far too.

Didn't deserve the win, but you take these 2 pts and run. Also huge kraken got 0, and slowly establishing themselves as a bottom feeder expansion team and not another Vegas.

I can surely admit I was wrong about Miller now. Was expecting him to get back to a slightly downgraded level of his first season. Those terrible passes are glaring every game and his play away from the puck has fallen off a cliff.

With Petey I don't know what it is. Confidence issues? Trying to do too much? Maybe the pressure has gotten to him and he cant focus on the game like he used to? If one of those is the problem I think it can be fixed. If, however it comes down to his effort level that is a terrible sign.

With how good the 2nd and 3rd lines are doing combined with Demko's strong play this would actually be a pretty solid team if the 1st line could get their shit together.

Hughes is doing so much it's night and day with or without him. He controls the puck so well and sees everything on the ice. Makes incredible plays to hold the line on the powerplay.... I could keep going on with praise for him.

I think Petey will figure it out. He's played what, a grand total of 40 games in the last 2 seasons?

He'll be okay - Just needs time. Hasn't played a lot of games.

Miller idk wtf his issue is. He was a two way animal before now if a pass isn't perfect he just watches it fly by him and he's constantly making these no look passes and just throwing the puck away with the softest effort.

He gets points every fucking game while simultaneously looking like an absolute plug.

I see why AV got so frustrated with him in NY.

Petey hasn't played since March, and missed camp. idk if his wrist isn't 100% healed cuz he doesn't have the same shot as he used to and noticably only passes when u'd think he would shoot. Combined with other teams always having 1 or 2 players glued to him, and him being a perfectionist is why he's struggling. I don't like how he's camping on his spot on the PP for that perfect pass, if he doesn't get it he either passes it back, or it gets blocked. He gotta realize the league is not gonna let him do his thing, he has to move around and make adjustments. Also very rare to see him struggling defensively, even if his offense output wasn't there, his defensive plays make up for it. It wasnt the case that game.

If the lotto line gets it together, like in 2019 the Canucks would be extremely dangerous... But they can't seem to gel or figure it out. Good thing rhe canucks have depth elsewhere in the lineup

Hamonic is in town.... just when I accepted he's gone. He is expected to play some games in Abbotsford to get back to game shape. If he could continue what he did with Hughes toward the end of last season with Hughes, it would be an upgrade.
Canucks PK is a joke, having Hamonic back should be huge and a big void that will be filled.
It sucks because Burroughs actually looked fucking great on the 3rd pair role. He will most likely be scratched til injuries i guess.

OEL - Myers
Hughes - Hamonic
Rathbone - Poolman

Burroughs
Schenn
Hunt

Wondering if Podkolzin makes it back in the lineup.

It was an ugly win for the Canucks but you don't often see roster changes after a W.

Had a blue jersey on for practice this morning which typically means top 6.

Pearson-Horvat-Garland
Podkolzin-Miller-Boeser
Highmore-Pettersson-Höglander
Bailey-Lammikko-Chiasson

OEL-Myers
Hughes-Poolman
Rathbone-Burroughs

Hunt-Schenn

Lines will probably change throughout the game lol
