Ah, I get ya. Hopefully you get the job man, GL. There is nothing better than taking a 2 week vacation and getting a cheque after those 2 weeks from work ;)
I was just curious because personally I could make a lot more money working out on an actual rig (and by a lot more I mean like triple my current salary). But lifestyle just doesnt make it worth it (no paid time off, limited time off during certain seasons, etc), just was curious what you're rationale was. I assumed you were working some type of shift work (like 2weeks on, 4 off or w/e) Didnt realize the trades never gave paid time off, you always just basically took days and didnt get paid.
Not all companies/trades work the same.
4% is govt law for vacation pay, every one earns it. Within a 52 week calender that 4% is equivilent of 2 weeks of pay, which is why some jobs that dont give you 4%, instead give you 2 weeks.
Sub0 has been paid for his time off (2 weeks of it) throughout the year. Which he also likely pays less tax on beacuse its taken in small amounts through the year and not as a lump sum.
I would actually challenge you to say your lifestyle is worse if you require a pay cheque for a 2 week period.
