Ah, I get ya. Hopefully you get the job man, GL. There is nothing better than taking a 2 week vacation and getting a cheque after those 2 weeks from work ;)

I was just curious because personally I could make a lot more money working out on an actual rig (and by a lot more I mean like triple my current salary). But lifestyle just doesnt make it worth it (no paid time off, limited time off during certain seasons, etc), just was curious what you're rationale was. I assumed you were working some type of shift work (like 2weeks on, 4 off or w/e) Didnt realize the trades never gave paid time off, you always just basically took days and didnt get paid.

Not all companies/trades work the same.
4% is govt law for vacation pay, every one earns it. Within a 52 week calender that 4% is equivilent of 2 weeks of pay, which is why some jobs that dont give you 4%, instead give you 2 weeks.

Sub0 has been paid for his time off (2 weeks of it) throughout the year. Which he also likely pays less tax on beacuse its taken in small amounts through the year and not as a lump sum.

I would actually challenge you to say your lifestyle is worse if you require a pay cheque for a 2 week period.

I'd much rather have vacation days.
I don't know 1 guy who puts away 4% of his checks for when he does take vacay days.

If I was to have them. I'd try n book off every Friday during summer months. Cammmmping

Yeah man it's sweet. I could count on one hand the amount of 5 day work weeks I've worked since April 1st.

Since we're talking abt jobs, yesterday I got taxied to the job location 1.5hr drive (got paid 190bucks), my coworkers told me I'm allowed to book rest, and it'll help them out and myself, so I did. Chilled at the bunk house watching movies and shit, got paid for being there. Get taxied back home 10hrs later, got paid 500 bucks total

yea it doesn't really make sense to hold on to money you already own just to give it back to yourself at a later date

Do you watch drag racing? going to the rocky mountain nationals?

so my roommate plans on having his gf staying over for 6 weeks. I've done this before myself but that's when I used to room with my mates so we all knew each other. I barely know my current roommate and ofc I don't know his gal... he's generally been considerate though, haven't even had to make up rules to do chores. should I play it by ear or try to set some hard rules (e.g. she has to do some of the chores; can't fuck loud after 11 pm lul) before she arrives?
