i just got offered a job (waiting on contract) for the summer (since school is out in the summer)
its for a school position, with depressed/behaviour kids grade 9 going to highschool, so grade 10.

little bit of academics in the morning, then like activities after.
so indoor surfing, trampoline zone, laser tag, rock climbing,

anything fun you can think of we basically do for 3 weeks of the summer.

excited to see how it goes.
hopefully the offer is enoough $$ to justify it, i have to drive 45 min each way to the school.

Gl. I myself am trying to get a new job. There's 5 openings with the city of edmonton. Il finally get vacation days and sick days instead of that retarded 4% extra per check. Dream job.

How could you ever work a job like that... at some point you have to value your lifestyle over the amount of $$$ your making, no?

I've never in my working life has vacation days.
I book time off. I don't get paid while off.

Instead I get like 4% more on my check.

That's just the way the trades are

Ah, I get ya. Hopefully you get the job man, GL. There is nothing better than taking a 2 week vacation and getting a cheque after those 2 weeks from work ;)

I was just curious because personally I could make a lot more money working out on an actual rig (and by a lot more I mean like triple my current salary). But lifestyle just doesnt make it worth it (no paid time off, limited time off during certain seasons, etc), just was curious what you're rationale was. I assumed you were working some type of shift work (like 2weeks on, 4 off or w/e) Didnt realize the trades never gave paid time off, you always just basically took days and didnt get paid.

Since we're talking abt jobs, yesterday I got taxied to the job location 1.5hr drive (got paid 190bucks), my coworkers told me I'm allowed to book rest, and it'll help them out and myself, so I did. Chilled at the bunk house watching movies and shit, got paid for being there. Get taxied back home 10hrs later, got paid 500 bucks total
