He's just beginning into his prime, the only way he doesn't still "have it" in 3-5 years, is if playing and getting wrecked in Toronto totally kills his confidence until then

former gms... most are former for a reason they should stay away from them imo

an assistant gm behind a good gm though could definately be the right choice as he learned from somebody good
i know i like the way hextall appraoches things and he learned all that as an assistant on the kings when they were winning

They changed it several months ago because they didn't like how fired coaches/managers also required compensation.

No idea why they didn't just make it so you don't get compensated if you fired the person, seems so obvious. If anything, that person being hired again helps you because you pay them less.

yeah i wasnt a fan of the fired coaches n shit getting compensation for teams
they shoulda just reworded it becasue it was worded wrong in the first place allowing that to happen

Yeah I mean I'll take the 3rd without complaint but the fact that Babcock signed with Toronto barely a month before his contract was up.... that shit needed to at least be waived if he had no more NHL games to coach with the team.
