Darren Helm
Detroit Red Wings

Helm (groin) appears ready to return to the Red Wings lineup tonight.
Helm is centering a like with Tomas Tatar and Drew Miller and also participating in penalty kill drills which would suggest he will be back tonight vs. St. Louis. We will have an official update following the morning skate.

Possible that one of these names is wearing a winged wheel before March 6 (some more a stretch than others):

More likely:
Steve Ott (expiring contract)
Brad Boyes (1mil contract underrated versatile addition. Great shootout add)
Any available right handed puck moving defenseman. This might have to wait until the off season if center proves to be a strong enough need down the stretch.

Moulson/Gaborik/Hemsky (low low probability imo. I know the wings have inquired about Gaborik in the past. However they're far too close to the cap to get him during regular season.
Alexander Edler (I know they've tried. Would somehow have to make room for his contract)

I can't wait until the wings can burn these 3mil deals that are eating up the cap and the space for the kids.

I personally think would fit. It would be a veteran add and at a 1mil price prorated. Im pretty confident that FLA is a seller and not a buyer right now. Wings suck in shootouts, not that anyone buys players purely for SO especially that late in the year but it doesn't hurt. He can put put points on the board. He can play on any line or special team. And Babcock/Holland are looking to add a top six forward.

Me personally, I would give up a whole list of players but im not a GM.
The wings need to price match almost any trade so $1 mil would be among the easiest to cover.

TheFourthperiod says FLA will part with boyes.

boyes should not be on the PK lol

im not sure if florida is willing to part with him becuase of the boyes-barkov-bergenheim line, also, florida wont tank but he might be had.

itll probably be wings picks then, because we dont really need subpar talent

Wow. I had to watch it twice just to see that sensational save in the shootout. Way to use his entire body. His toes must be strong.

I thought for sure Patrick Kane was going to win it right there.
