Plenty of players on the team with experience. This isn't their year regardless of how well in the regular season they did. There's no killer drive and they go into bad spells far too easily. I see St. Louis winning in 5 or 6 next round.

Russell’s 40.9 per cent exit rate with possession was 70th of 92 qualified defencemen (min. five games) this post-season. The 13.3% of the time he failed to get the puck out of his zone on a clearing attempt was the 10th-highest rate amongst his 91 peers.

He was arguably even more futile at defending entries, as the ugly habits he’d become known for during his time with the Flames continued.

Shoulda got Hamhuis :D

Yeah this was just after the loss in game 7, I didn't disagree with you totally tbh, just disliked the very heavy pessimism of the fans here, I think some people here sold the Stars short and I didn't like the blatant disrespect that they received from game announcers and 'experts' from day 1. Future is pretty bright though, so let's just get on with the offseason(and hopefully witness the defeat of bully blues)

I'm just pessimistic in general. It's better to just call it realism. No use getting hopes up or deluding myself that the team had a chance to win the cup this year.

Vancouver's owner has a petty grudge against Dallas' owner. Rumour was Aquilini found out about the trade proposal and demanded more. When Hamhuis basically was only going to go to Dallas. The offer was the same as what Calgary got for Russell. Also, Russell wasn't really that bad. Goaltending was inconsistent and the team couldn't consistently play a top level.

Saying we weren't a favorite at all to win it all would be pure realism, and to be clear I didn't set my expectations there either, but to call the series a foregone conclusion was past realism imho. I mean despite the huge fails at times, the series easily could have swung our way in 6 games had it been for a couple luckier bounces and/or more balanced officiating.

I like Hamhuis signing. Still can go younger but not completely without a veteran presence now.

You'll like him. Not what he once was but still very solid.

No offense, little physicality. Just reliable.
