Pierre Dion of Quebecor (the ownership group that put in an expansion bid for QC) will participate in the press conference today at 4 EST. Still haven't seen anything that suggests 2 expansion teams, wonder what he'll be there for. Seems silly to fly out to say they aren't getting one.

I like the trade. A decent goalie is the better choice right now, no point in aiming for a great goalie with the team that will be in front of him over the next 2-3 years.

Toronto play matches well with Andersen and he must know he average will decrease for a little while..

but play bernier and get him some wins then trade him.

Doesn't really make any sense to give a goalie that you think isn't great a 5 year deal.

They obviously feel he's their guy for when they turn the corner in 2~ years.

my guess is a canned response about how they remain committed to bringing a team to QC. Maybe they put something like within 5 years on it while they figure out the logistics of being in an area where several teams already have a market.

They'll get a team through relocation before expansion.
