It's not just about getting D-men, we need quality D-men that you can actually have confidence in matching up against top-6 forwards in the playoffs.

With Schmidt gone, IMO we have zero of those until OEL proves he's bounced back.

so OEL was schmidt's replacement after all

christ lmfao

he's more of Edler replacement, but now they have enough cap not to worry about Petey getting offer sheeted.
26m to sign 2 RHD, 1 back up, 1 4C, Petey/Hughes. Hopefully 1 of them gets locked up long term.

rumor is schenn is coming back at 2yr deal. i wonder if hamonic is coming back for the 2nd rhd

still a gross backend

Gonna get bought out year 3 probably lmao

And ew Hamonic is back. Just two years, though.

So we replaced Schmidt with two bottom pairing dman 2ho may not even be in the league in 1-2 years. Art of the fucking deal.

I rather Hamonic back than others, he played well with Hughes toward the end. Hopefully he continues that the next 2 yrs.

Poolman has Sutter franchise center signing all over it, I hope I'm wrong and he turns out to be a solid big shutdown dude. Although I doubt it cuz Jets defense was as bad as canucks defense and he didn't do well.

Poolman’s regular partner last year at even-strength was also Morrissey. There’s a case to be made that Morrissey is one of the most overrated defenders in hockey. The pair had a 46.8% Corsi together last year. Poolman’s Corsi jumped to 48.9% without Morrissey, but Morrissey’s Corsi dropped to 42.8% without Poolman.

I mean, hopefully whoever he plays with forms a better chemistry than he did with Morrissey, then he should be solid i guess

These stats are interesting at least, everyone sucks off Morrissey and the assumption is that Poolman got paid because of him.

Did we release all our ahlers and resign brand new ones? Signed like 10 randos today for Abbotsford I assume.

Hope to god Hamonic can be steady and remain healthy.

And that Poolman can actually play a legit 3rd pairing / 2nd PK role.

This defense is absolute ass on paper.

OEL - Myers may end up being our match-up pair.

Pray for us.

“I was never asked or talked to last year about a trade to Winnipeg. There was never a conversation about, hey, would you waive to go to Winnipeg and I said no to,” Nate Schmidt Press Conference in Winnipeg

Benning on interview said that it's true he never spoke to Schmidt directly, but was talking to his agent like 3-4 times a day the past couple weeks.

So basically his agent never even considering asking Nate if it's possible for him to waive even though it was on his No trade list of teams. Although idk how Statsny ended up convincing him to join peg??

ehh whatever, too bad he didn't fit well, although i think last season was a complete mess for everyone and not just him.

“I am feeling better, I wish I could come back, but I know where I’m at now health-wise.

“No, I don’t think I’ll play professionally ever again. Definitely no contact ever again, I need to take care of myself.”

- Michael Ferland.

Looks like his career is officially over.

Feel bad for him. He went on to talk about wanting to play no contact rec hockey.

He loves the game but has made the right decision to walk away.
