Surprised it took this long for them to fire Bruce.

Well, team might be a Hell of a lot different next season, their window may have passed :/.

For sure.

Happy Vegas will have a team soon so I can see them play in person more. I think they'll be competitive enough in the coming years but not a contender, shipped away too many quality players for that I think, but you never know.

Wondering what happens at goaltender the most. Gotta figure Gibson is the man and Freddie will be shipped. I hope wherever Freddie goes he has success, dude is a boss and almost got them to the Finals.

Well, they made their call with Freddie which may have been for the best with Vegas getting a team and such, plus you need to know who the fuck you want to roll with going into a playoff run. They'll probably be a playoff team still but I'm not sure how secure I like their chances at a serious run. Never know what might happen, though, and can't do much worse than last year; despite kicking ass defensively all fucking season just to lose in the first God damn round.

Thoughts on day 1 of the draft?

IMO, I like our first pick. I think Max Jones will be the perfect fit for the Ducks gritty style of play and depending on how things work out with some of our UFA's/RFA's... I wouldn't be surprised to see him crack the line up next year etc.

I think it was a pretty big reach on Steel though. IMO, hes more of a late second/early third round guy but because we don't have a 2nd, I guess they thought we should grab him with pick 30.

I would have liked to see us go for a guy like Boris Katchouk who would fit the play of the ducks perfectly as well, similar to Max Jones. Or even grab a goalie like like Carter Hart or Filip Gustavsson.

Sounded like before the suspension, Jones was projected to be a top 15 pick so if that talent projection is right, it seems like a good pick at 24.

I don't mind the Steel pick, seems like another Cogliano, which I like.

The interesting part now is who will the Ducks get for Fowler or Lindholm?

Lindholm has emerged as one of the best D in the league, I can't imagine Anaheim has even entertained the thought of letting him go.

Fowler is excellent as well but definitely has to be the one to go between the two.

I'm not sure Lindholm is at the level where the Ducks shouldn't entertain offers for him, but it definitely makes more sense to trade Fowler.

I'd definitely prefer to keep Lindholm over Fowler. Don't really wanna see Fowler go either but it may have to happen to retain some of the key free agents
