Or one year. IMO there will be a lot of 1 or 2-year contracts for non-protected players. Makes it so the team doesn't necessarily factor them into long-term plans and if they get picked up in the expansion draft they aren't stuck with the new (likely shitty to start) team for 6-7 years.
