Been seeing a bunch of "legit" bloggers who claim they have sources in the NHL who sat the discussion about relocating Carolina is serious. Not necessarily that the discussion is going in one direction or another but Karmanos's situation plus his standing with the league are getting them to re-evaluate.

Sounds like QC didn't like the state of the Canadian economy and pulled out. They might be more willing to spend a $100m relocation fee than a $500m expansion fee.

Some people are saying the owners will for sure vote for expansion because of that $500M Vegas has to pay the league to get the team.

But $500M split between 30 owners is 16.67M each, and that's only if each penny goes directly to the owners and in an even split. I don't know if that's enough to sway their decision. Unless there are real financial differences between 31 and 30 teams that I'm not privy to.
