a website for you guys to check out how we're doing globally in the face of the pandemic.

https://aatishb.com/covidtrends/?country=Australia&country=Canada&country=China&country=France&country=Germany&country=India&country=Iran&country=Italy&country=Japan&country=Pakistan&country=South+Korea&country=Spain&country=Switzerland&country=US&country=United+Kingdom

it's plotted new cases vs confirmed cases so it's a bit lagged also the cases are averaged on a rolling week to smooth out the trend

only when we dip below the exponential lines are we actually "flattening the curve"

so far... statistically, only China and South Korea so... we got a ways to go

here's also a good video that explains the chart and its pros and cons versus just reporting how many new cases and total cases because it doesn't really let you know how we're actually doing (are we making progress?)

so essentially

after our first confirmed case

they
cleaned the machines, gates and rooms

and told everybody what happend

that is it

they did the obvious stuff but didn't change anything about how we are currently working

i have my weekend off or you could bet the terminal I would be at, wouldn't work

anyway

i'm not too worried
plenty of guys to step up

not much work will be done this weekend for sure

Italy past 10K deaths now and it's not even the end of March. They've already beaten excess mortality from flu models for some years.

Awful. It really it a terrible situation.

Italy has high population density and (like much of Europe) has an aging population.

Surprised it has not been announced yet.

It sucks but I would rather have next season start on time and be played properly instead of risking the health of everyone involved.

UK says their positive outlook now is if less than 20,000 die.

Estimates for the US is 80,000 dead
