People have been speculating Malkin would get shipped out since 2010. Kypreos's reasoning is basically that Bonino can take his place, so why not get assets for him.

He's Evgeni Motherfucking Malkin, dude. You don't trade Geno away and let it ride on a guy who's never had a 50 point season. That kind of thinking is largely why Hawks have a Bickell eating up cap space they could have given to Saad.

He hasn't held a presser or anything to formally announce but he confirmed to media he still plans to retire. Would cost the Kings $1m per year in recapture so I wonder if Lombardi is trying to find a trade to a team that wants to do what Toronto did and eat the contract in exchange for moving up picks.

Even if the cap goes up they're tight so every penny matters. Only issue is Philly gave him hefty signing bonuses his last two years.
