Complete speculation, but if Yandle decides he wants to go back to Arizona, they're not far off from contending. Domingue looked like a stud while he was starting, add a #1 defenseman, a year of development for the kids, and a consistent 30 goal scorer? They could make a splash.
Pronger is coming off the books after next season, too, so that kinda meets the cap floor thing if that's what they're going for.

There is word of a snag in Vadim Shipachyov's status. He may have to fulfill another year in Russia before coming to the NHL.

Shipachyov has put all contract talks on hold, SKA is trying to outbid any NHL offers.

SKA president also says he has been in talks and are confident they will sign him. This is gonna turn into a shit show of rumors.

The New York Post is reporting the Rangers have no intention of buying out Girardi’s contract or asking the defenseman to waive his no-move clause. The 32-year-old has four years remaining on his deal with an annual cap hit of $5.5 million.
