in the surgeon's defense, they really do the best they can, it was probably a high risk procedure, always have to weight the potential risks vs benefits

They are never spouse to make mistakes. They happen, but you can't put it off as saying it was risky. Even if it's high risk, you can't go in and say to the person getting surgery after you screw up that it was a risk. You screwed up and you shouldn't have. Never make mistakes.
My future father in law is a Surgeon and hes said before that he made a mistake about 15 years ago and said to himself if he ever made a mistake because his hand wasn't steady enough he would quit being a surgeon.
